Expert on Renewable Energy for the Global Platform of Action

Koaile is a cross-disciplinary systems thinker from Lesotho with expertise in implementing climate change strategies, renewable energy transitions, and sustainable development practices. He has a background in global climate governance and sustainability which inspired his research at Rhodes University and the University of Cape Town in South Africa. His interests extend to corporate governance, integrated reporting, climate-related disclosure, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices worldwide. Before joining CAN, Koaile worked at Power Shift Africa (Kenya) and Just Share (South Africa). In Lesotho, his work focuses on addressing energy poverty through renewable energy solutions in Lesotho's highlands through various roles at Khantša Energy, Khantša Foundation, the Lesotho National Climate Change Committee and Native Hands (NAHA), a social enterprise he founded that drives collective action through a multi-stakeholder approach to raise awareness about climate change, enhance resilience, and guide Lesotho's sustainability journey. His work has been recognized globally through the Mandela-Rhodes Foundation, the UN-OHRLLS, Qatar Fund for Development, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Mail & Guardian: Greening the Future and Forbes Africa's '30 Under 30' honour. Alongside his professional pursuits, he is an avid golfer, music curator, and a lifelong supporter of Arsenal Football Club
