Anaid Velasco is an environmental lawyer, member of the Commission on Environmental Law and of the Commission of Environmental, Economic and Social Policy of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
Since 2005 she has worked on the effective application and improvement of environmental law in the Mexican Center for Environmental Law (CEMDA).
She is the author of numerous publications on topics such as the human right to water, climate change, and the human right to a healthy environment. Since 2012 she has been the Manager of the Legal Research Area in CEMDA where she leads projects related to the implementation of environmental human rights, human right to water, climate change, and air quality.
Despite being born and raised in Mexico City, Anaid loves any chance to dive and escape the city to be by the ocean.
