Climate Communications Training
Effective Communications to Support Advocacy in a Digital World
19 July 2021 | 1400-1530 UTC
26 July 2021 | 0700-0830 UTC
Digital transformation (the integration of digital technology into all areas of our lives) is fundamentally changing the way we work. It is an inescapable reality that all sectors need to grapple with, including our own: the Third Sector.
Digital technologies provide many possibilities for increased efficiency, productivity and connectivity, but it can also leave many NGOs and grassroots organisations, in particular, scratching their heads on how to bridge the gap left by digitisation in effectively communicating their objectives and goals.
This is a challenge that has come into even clearer focus as the world was subjected to the COVID-19 pandemic and we were forced to move our work online.
This training will seek to enhance the communications skills of people working in Third Sector organisations to enhance the opportunities and overcome the challenges of working with digital technologies.
The main language of the workshops will be in English, but the organisers are looking into translation into Spanish. More information on this will be shared in due course.
We look forward to your participation.
By attending the workshop, you will:
- Develop an effective communications approach and strategy by working across departments/functional areas in your organisation
- Develop a communications toolkit to support your advocacy efforts
- Develop narratives on renewable energy that works indifferent regions
- Effectively and rapidly respond to events (e.g. extreme weather events, international conferences and ‘moments’), by expanding reach to grassroots level communities to support advocacy goals and inspire action
