Policy Coordinator

About Pooja

Pooja has seven years of experience in climate change education, awareness-raising and communication. After completing her post-graduate studies in Climate Change Impact Management from Gujarat University, Pooja worked passionately to improve climate literacy and enhancing community engagement for building a low-carbon climate-resilient society. While working at Centre for Environment Education India, she has been involved in several national and international projects, giving her the opportunity to interact with vulnerable communities as well as decision-makers.

For effective implementation, she believes that communication and community engagement are necessary, which drew her interest to policy advocacy. Since then, she has worked on issues related to policy convergence, sustainable development and international collaboration. Since 2015 she has also organised the Local Conference of Youth (COY) for the South-Asia region in cooperation with YOUNGO.

Pooja was also one of the authors for a UNFCCC-UNESCO-CEE joint publication titled “Good Practice in Action for Climate Empowerment: A compilation and analysis of case studies” launched on Education Day during COP 23.

Outside of work Pooja enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and travelling.
