Julie Ducasse

Renewable Energy Data Specialist

Julie has an academic background in computer science. She holds a Ph.D. degree in assistive technologies from the University of Toulouse, France and was a recipient of the Google EMEA Anita Borg scholarship dedicated to female computer scientists. After her PhD, she moved to Koper, Slovenia, for her post-doctoral studies. There, she taught data analysis and worked on various data projects, including one with an investigative newspaper.

Having decided to address climate change beyond her own individual actions, she moved out of academia and joined Sandbag, an environmental think-tank, as a data and policy analyst. She analyzed key legislative proposals such as the EU Emissions Trading System and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms, and she also worked on renewable hydrogen and several interactive data tools.

She is looking forward to crunching numbers that will support the advocacy work of the CAN International team on renewable energy. She is based in Koper, Slovenia but regularly works from her home country, France.
