Felipe Pino Zúñiga, CAN Latin America (CANLA)

Felipe Pino is an environmental lawyer with a master’s degree in human settlements and the environment. He has been a member of FIMA NGO—one of the main environmental justice organizations in Chile—since 2018 and has acted as Program Coordinator since 2022.
He has specialized in analyzing environmental democracy, climate governance, and just transition issues, focusing on the implications of related laws and policies in the Latin American region. In addition to the several projects of legal empowerment and advocacy he has carried out through FIMA, he has recently started developing interdisciplinary academic research on the Chilean energy transition process.
As a member of CAN, he served for years as the coordinator of the Human Rights working group in CANLA, and is currently a member of the Board of the same regional node.
Born in Santiago but currently based in Washington DC, dreams of coming back to live near the beautiful rainforests of the south of Chile.
