Tender: CAN-I website design project

Background
Climate Action Network (CAN) is a global network of more than 1,900 civil society organizations in over 130 countries driving collective and sustainable action to fight the climate crisis and to achieve social and racial justice. CAN members work to achieve this goal through information exchange and the coordinated development of NGO strategy on international, regional and national climate issues. CAN has regional and national network hubs that coordinate these efforts around the world.
CAN International (CAN-I) is seeking tenders from web agencies to overhaul the organization’s current website.
Scope
CAN-I is seeking an agency/consultant (therein referred as the Contractor) to design and develop a new website for the organization, which focuses on international campaigning, communications, fundraising and movement building, and in addition, to overhaul the current website into a repository for policy papers.
The policy focussed website should include the following, amongst other features, based on appropriate supporter journeys:
- Home page with key information
- About/contact page
- Search engine with filters, eg key words, year, language
- Multilingual functionality
- Donation functionality
- Linkage to the action-orientated site
The action-orientated website should include the following, amongst other features, based on appropriate supporter journeys:
- Home page with key information
- Campaigns section with dedicated pages for campaign areas and toolkits drop down options
- Communications section with press, multimedia and toolkits drop down options
- Jobs page
- About/contact page
- Multilingual functionality
- Donation functionality
- Redirect to CAN nodes’ websites
- Linkage to the policy-orientated website
In addition to developing the website, the Contractor is responsible for:
- Designing the website (structure, selection of color scheme, etc.)
- Deploying the website (possibility to host the website on CAN-I’s domain – to be confirmed/decided with CAN-I’s relevant staff)
Additional information
- The Contractor will coordinate with CAN-I Head of Communications for approval of design regarding the front and backends of both websites.
- The budget assigned for this project is approximately 15,000 euros, all inclusive.
Project duration
Three months duration in its entirety, with a soft launch in June-August 2025, and hard launch in November 2025.
