
CAN ON AR6
The IPCC, the UN body that was created to assess the science related to climate change, is now in its sixth assessment cycle, in which the IPCC is producing the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) with contributions by its three Working Groups and a Synthesis Report, three Special Reports, and a refinement to its latest Methodology Report. The Synthesis Report will be the last of the AR6 products, currently due for release in 2022.
The contributions from the three Working Groups are due for release in 2021:
- Working Group I – The Physical Science Basis: Approval plenary confirmed for 26 – 30 July 2021
- Working Group III – Mitigation of Climate Change: Approval plenary to be determined (could be December 2021)
- October 2021 – Working Group II – Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability: Approval plenary to be determined (could be February/March 2022)
The Synthesis Report is due to be published in May 2022.
