Mickey, based in Manila, has years of experience in research in the private sector and government, as well as campaigns with various environmental and human rights NGOs.
He conducts environmental, social and governance (ESG) research in the energy and utilities sector for socially responsible investing (SRI) in line with global norms such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Mickey was also a researcher and writer at the Department of National Defense and continues to be a consultant in public relations and environmental planning for individual and institutional clients.
Mickey previously led a non-profit coalition with over 50 member organizations that launched a nationwide campaign and lobbying efforts for students' rights in the Philippines. He has been a resource person at People's Television (PTV4) Special Forum on various issues, and is also a part of the Climate Reality Project and the Asia Clean Energy Forum.
He earned his BSc in Geography and started taking up MA in Urban and Regional Planning with specializations in natural resources and settlements planning, both at the University of the Philippines.
