Society for People’s Actions in Change and Equity (SPACE)

Society for People’s Actions in Change and Equity (SPACE) is a Not-for-Profit organization founded in July 2003 by a group of socially committed men and women having long experience in development programs and working with poor section of people have founded SPACE. Besides, strong human feelings of its founders to the poor people, especially, to the destitute children and women who suffer from extreme poverty and hunger, various diseases and malnutrition, uneven death of neonate, infant and children caused by ignorance, diarrheal diseases and various health problems, lack of equal distribution of resources, class-confliction, gender discrimination and inadequate capacities morally obligated founders in establishing SPACE.

 

It envisages a poverty and hunger-free society where all children and women enjoy healthy living, equal opportunities, human dignity and security. It dedicates to contribute in reducing rate of mortality, morbidity and improving livelihood status of underprivileged poor deprived children in Bangladesh.

 

SPACE works with children and women whose lives are dominated by extreme poverty, illiteracy, disease, effects of inequalities and climate vulnerabilities. However, underprivileged children and women including adolescent from all castes with especial focus to outcastes, socially excluded and ethnic minority groups; culturally bound occupational communities, street dwellers and working children living in the hard to reach rural and urban areas of Bangladesh.

 

Vision
SPACE envisages a hunger-free country where all children, adolescents and women lead a better life with improved health, resources, human dignity and security.

 

Mission
SPACE is a Not-for-Profit People’s Centered development organization strives to enrich the lives of underprivileged poor children and women through reducing mortality and morbidity caused by ignorance, superstition, diarrheal diseases, mal-nutrition, food insecurity, lack of sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) followed by right based approaches. SPACE enables them to be empowered and self-reliant by strengthening capacities in sustainable solutions of their problems towards poverty and hunger-free better life by their own initiatives.
